Mass Effect 2 – Overlor review

DLC has a nice, rich history of providing us crap wrapped in bundles of ten dollar bills and headache medication. Much of it seems rather unnecessary, unless you're that guy who knows and constantly shares every bit of information about your favorite game. When it comes to Mass Effect 2 in particular, their history of DLC is somewhat checkered. While many of the free Cerberus items are decent, none seem necessary - which is good in theory, but since they're free it feels almost like a waste of memory. All of that changed, however, when they released Kasumi's Stolen Memory. Well, now the guys at BioWare have done it again. This time, Commander Shepard must infiltrate and shut down an A.I. hell bent on killing folk. Why? 'Cause that's what A.I. does. Well, alright, that isn't true. There is a fantastic story behind Overlord, but saying too much about it will certainly ruin some of the finer points of the DLC pack. Unfortunately, the best part of this DLC is its story. To be blunt, there is no new items. The only real reason to play the Kasumi DLC was mostly because of the amazing Locust SMG, which was apparently better than one of the better assault rifles. So to come into this DLC with the same mindset, it is slightly disappointing. I wanted to have something new to toss around, even if the weapons I currently have feel good enough. If nothing else, give us new armor, even if it is purely cosmetic
