International Cricket 2010 Review

Cricket. It’s kind of like Marmite. You either love it, or you hate it. That might be a slight lie as I really despise County Cricket, but don’t mind watching England in tests, one day matches and the superb Twenty20 form of the game. And if you’re like me and find these forms of international cricket entertain you, you may want to keep reading.

International Cricket 2010 brings international teams and all of the forms of the game. Sadly the teams aren’t all licensed, with only the licenses for the English and Australian teams agreed. That means you’ll only get the real kits and badges for these two nations, a real disappointment for the purists.

One of the main disappointments from the last game – the Ashes title – was how poor the details of the players were. None of the players looked like their real life counterparts at all. In fact it was quite laughable at how bad they did look, especially when you consider the developers only had to concentrate on two squads of players. Thankfully things have improved in 2010, but not much. Some of the players’ likenesses in the England and Australia squads are quite good. Others not so. But at least this time you can just about recognise which player is which when looking at them. The same can’t be said about the other nations’ squads. There’s no real likeness, with each player looking pretty generic. Think about the lower league players in FIFA 2010 and you won’t be far off.
